A Pink Birthday card

Hello Stamping friend,

Before going full out Christmassy on you, I wanted to have fun with Pink – Flirty Flamingo that is! In all honesty, I am not a Pink person but I simply love the Playing With Patterns Designer Series Paper (still available at 15% discount until the 31st of October 2020). This is where my Pink Birthday card started! The softer Pink in the designs work beautifully with the Blushing Bride card stock I wanted to use. I kept it simple by pulling White and Gold in to the mix.

I started with a Blushing Bride card base. On Shimmery White card stock (my favorite for adding watercolor) measuring 10 cm x 8 cm, using the wide brush from the Water Painters, I painted I light wash of Flirty Flamingo. Then (also with Flirty Flamingo ink) I stamped the floral image from the Fancy Phrases cling stamp set in two of the corners. I layered the watercolor piece onto the beautifully soft, stripy paper from the Playing with Patters DSP stack (9.5 cm x 10.5 cm) – I used my sewing machine to add Gold stitching for a little shine. The sentiment was heat embossed in Gold and I also added a few sequins from the Artistry Blooms Sequins for more sparkle.

(I use my sewing machine mostly for cardmaking, paper tends to dull needles quickly.)
