Hello! I hope this post finds you well! For the July 2022 Artisan project my group was assigned the Heavenly Hollyhocks Bundle…

Such a playful bundle – I love the combination of solid with an outline!

To be honest, when I first started playing with this bundle, I went for my go to watercolour technique and it was pretty, but I thought that I could do a little better… This is where the fun started! My next step normally would be to pick one of Stampin’ Up!’s many beautiful Designer Series Packs not only for colour inspiration, but also for adding layers and texture. This wasn’t part of the brief and not an option… so I decided to make my ow backgrounds! And I loved it! As for the colour combination, I am still loving the new 2022-2024 In Colors so much and I used that as my kick off point…

There was only one of the background I ended up not using but I love that I have it ready for a next project.
I loved the layout of my first card and decided to use it on both my projects!
A closer look! I added Clear Stampin’ Embossing over the greeting (I used my Stamparatus for this step) and I also used another favourite of mine, tone-on-tone stamping to add interest to my card base.
I think both cards turned out well but the Starry Sky colour combination is definitely my favourite! Which one is yours?
