The best is yet to come – Layers of Beauty, Sketched Butterflies and Heartfelt Hexagon

Hello! I wanted to share a card that I made with a very special person in mind… happy retirement Jenny! It is amazing to see how you are making the most of your well deserved free time! Jenny is one of the most amazing people I know (also my Stampin’ Up! up line!). The card was inspired by this month’s #earthytoneschallenge over @stampinfancyfriday . That’s right, for the whole month of September 2024, you will find all sorts of earthy toned colour combinations, all cards made by my Fancy Friends! These are the earthy colours I chose for this challenge…

… and Jenny’s card…

(Click on the photos for a list of all the suggested products and detailed instructions)

I used Copper Clay for the card base, but Cajun Craze, the same colour as used for the patterned paper, is a perfect match!
The little kaleidoscope of butterflies (did you know that’s what you call a group of butterflies?) from the Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set, was stamped with Cajun Craze ink onto the Cajun Craze pattern, for a little tone-on-tone interest.

Petal Pink and Cajun Craze work really well together. The floral image from the Layers of Beauty Stamp Set was stamped with Cajun Craze onto the Petal Pink pattern from the Country Lace Designer Series Paper. The die cut butterflies from the Sketched Butterflies Dies (I used the whitewashed pattern from the Country Woods DSP). I also scrunched up the label for more texture.

I made this little gift box to go with the card. In side I put a crocheted bookmark (I forgot to take a photo). Would you like to see a video of how I made the gift box? Let me know!

My entire craft room is packed in boxes for the moment. as soon as I’m ready to set up a new craft room, I will share more of my card making journey with you!

Thank you for stopping by, I appreciate your time! Happy stamping until next time!

Take care!

Melodie
