A card for Father’s Day

Here in Australia the dads have to wait until the first Sunday in September to be celebrated and although my husband isn’t very big on gifts and cards (I can give him the same card every year, he wouldn’t notice) we do go out of our way to make the day special for him. I also wanted to let him know what a great dad he is so I made him a card!

I saw a ‘fancy fold’ card created by Pootles (thank you!) that I just loved and I thought it would be perfect to showcase the new Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper while also taking part in a Global Design Project Challenge! Phew!! What a mouthful!

Beautiful inspiration!

The base of my card measured 25,5 cm x 10,5 cm and I scored (on the long side) at 10,5 cm, 13 cm and 15 cm.

I die cut 2 pieces each from the foiled patterned and adhered the pieces to Night of Navy card using Stampin’ Seal and then trimmed the piece to a 9 cm square card before tying a Linen Thread bow around. This layer was adhered to the card base with Dimensionals. To showcase the paper I used one of the labels from the Tasteful Labels Die set. The sentiment was heat embossed with White Stampin’ Embossing Powder onto a Stitched square die piece.

My Supply List

This easy card will work with a lot of colors, inks and papers! If you do decide to use the template I would love it if you tag me on Instagram (@stampingwithmelodie)!

Stay safe!
