The good things in life are better with you

It is almost Valentine’s Day! We are not too big on celebrating the day in our house (hubby thinks it is just a moneymaking scheme), I have however received the odd bouquet of Red Roses over the years (we have been married for almost 16 years) . I do create a card every year because he is after all my biggest sponsor (I mean supporter).

There is also a Love theme challenge happening over at Global Design Project and that was already enough reason to break out the hearts stamps and Poppy Parade card stock!

I added Gilded Leafing to the tiny love hearts for a little shine – I wanted to keep the card simple.

I started off with a Poppy Parade card base to coordinate with the patterned paper (measuring 14.5cm x 7cm) I pulled from the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper (a SALE-a-bration freebie) and stamped the small trio of hearts (outline) from the Pattern Play Stamp set with Versamark Ink. I stamped the solid trio of heart twice with Poppy Parade ink and fussy cut three hearts to use as embellishments on my card. Next I added Granny Apple Green water colour to Shimmery White cardstock with a Water painter, stamped the leave vine (also with Granny Apple Green) over the watercolour piece once it was dry and then die cut the image. I chose two bird that faced in opposite directions, stamped them twice with Memento Tuxedo Black on Basic White card stock ink before die cutting the cuties.

Tip! I used scraps from my Scrappy Box for the vine, birds and sentiment strip (measuring 12cm x 4.5cm).

Tip! I brushed Multipurpose Glue with a small paintbrush over the tiny hearts and pressed down Gilded Leaving over the hearts to add a little shine.

The Postie delivered today and let’s just say the vibe in my craft room this week will be fruity!
