Four more Christmas card ideas

This past week I felt like I lost my mojo. It just left! A lot of this week’s card challenges included products I don’t own , so (almost) no luck there… but as a person that really needs to be creative in some or other way, I just spent time in my craft room everyday, playing around with my Stampin’ Up! products and you know what – as always – it worked! I created 4 new Christmas cards! One of them inspired by this amazing sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches!

The Challenge

My entry card for this challenge:

The Holly and Berries were painted with the fine tip Water Painter using Mossy Meadow and Real Red ink colors.

Tip! I used a ruler to keep my stripes (more or less) straight and evenly spaced. I also cleaned the ruler before painting the next stripe.

I had so much fun in my craft room that I came up with three more Christmas cards!

This card can be stepped up by adding tone-on-tone stamping to the Crumb Cake card stock. The Holly & Berry stamp from the Christmas Gleaming Stamp set (stamped in Versamark or Crumb Cake ink) would work beautifully.

I love adding an extra layer of embossed card stock – here I used the Dainty Diamonds 3 D embossing folder. The ornament was embossed in Gold on to the Copper foil card stock.

Heat embossing FoilDo not get too close with the heat gun and don’t stay in the same place for too long – the foil will melt. Let your Heat Tool warm up for 20-30 seconds before bringing it to the Foil sheet.

Supply List

I love that all of these cards have a different feel to them but at the same time they are really simple and easy to create! I would like to end this post with an invitation to join the Stampin’ Up! Family. During the month of September Stampin’ Up! is running the Get & Go Starter Kit Promotion and you have even more reason to join! I would love for you to join The Very Mellow Stampers!

I hope to catch up with you again soon!

  1. These are all lovely. Your hand painted stripes are a really lovely background for your pretty holly and that great sentiment. So glad you joined us this week at FMS!
